Deimantas Narkevicius

(b. 1964) is a Lithuanian artist based in Vilnius.

He graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts. His films and videos thematize the problem of memory and personal revisions of History as well as various concepts of public space, as they have changed under post-communist conditions. His most recent solo exhibitions include shows at the Munchner Kunstverein (Deimantas Narkevicius Project, 2002) and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam (Time and Again, 2004). He also took part in many group exhibitions, including History in Art at the Museum of Contemporary art in Cracow (2011), Ostalgia in New Museum New York (2011), 29th Sao Paolo biennial (2010), 11th Istanbul biennial (2009), and 3x Yes at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (2009). Deimantas Narkevicius represented Lithuania at the 49th Venice Biennale (2001).

Auditorium Moscow will feature his recent film Ausgetraeumt (2010) as an installation, as well as Into the Unknown (2009) in a screening.
